Old World Spices and Seasonings was incorporated in 1988 in Kansas City, Missouri. Founder John Jungk had been blending custom seasonings for many nationally known restaurant chains and food manufacturers since the early 1960’s. Starting in basement of his home, he and his father then built Jungk Seasonings Laboratories in Overland Park, Kansas, which was sold a few years later to a nationally known food company, Farmland Industries / Fa-Mar-Co Foods.

Today, John is joined in current business by his daughters and sons-in-laws. Old World has evolved from a bulk blending operation to a custom developer and specialty packager of many recognizable dry food blends.

In 2001, John lost his oldest daughter, Laurie, to a sudden illness. It was after Laurie that the Laurie’s Kitchen line of products was named, and later the Laurie’s Kitchen Gluten Free line was born.
